If you travel and explore the world, you will experience life differently
Why do I want to encourage you to travel and explore? I think it is good to do this, especially for young people to have new experiences.
A while ago my young friend Rahul did message me discussing life. I learned to know him first in a video on Facebook and later did an Interview with him which you can read here:” From drop-out to a successful creative Facebook Ads Hacker.”
Some may know him as the Facebook Ads Hacker, teaching his knowledge. He also was a speaker at events about Digital marketing and blogging, started his own agency, DDN, and also a YouTube Channel, and you can find him on Instagram.
Unfortunately, he took all the travel videos down in between. However, we talked about his experiences in interviews. One you can at the end of this post.
I like that he is brave, authentic, and spontaneous, always outreaching and open to discussing life.
This time, it was talking about marriage; the family thought it was time for him to settle. I am not against marriage, but I suggested traveling first, exploring other countries, and having new experiences.
Travel and explore, make new experiences, and discover yourself
I know many young people think life is better in Western countries and want to go to live there. Not Rahul, he loves his country, and we discussed what I told many others. It is not as it seems in Western countries; we only see what the media wants us to see, and this is not reality. It is also often not easy to get a tourist visa.
Rahul had tried to go to Australia and could not get a visa.
So I suggested going to counties where no permission is needed first. Rahul started to plan his journey to go abroad.
He did it and started his adventurous journey to Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore and met people from other countries. On the return flight, he was already inspired to make new plans for the next trip. It is called travel fever.
Exploring India
Now he is exploring his homeland and already made it to the south end of India. On the way, he stopped in Mumbai, we saw each other in Pune, and he continued to Goa and Bengaluru. He visited Isha, meditated there, and did a remarkable interview with Abdul Kalam’s 102-year-old brother. Also, he made trips to Chennai and Hyderabad and will connect to people on his way.
It is going to be a year of traveling for him, and he will visit more countries.
He already experienced a lot and also crazy things, but this is what exploring life is all about. He did capture his adventures on his YouTube Channel.
Here are a few quotes about the benefits of traveling:
“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” – Henry Miller
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.”– Mark Twain
The whole story and experiences to get inspired to travel and explore
I will encourage Rahul to talk about his experiences here in a post. It may inspire you to travel & explore, see what Life Is all about, and find yourself.
“As you travel solo, being totally responsible for yourself, it’s inevitable that you will discover just how capable you are.” — Unknown.
“We travel, initially, to lose ourselves; and we travel, next to find ourselves. We travel to open our hearts and eyes and learn more about the world than our newspapers will accommodate” – Pico Iyer.
“Uncover what you long for, and you will discover who you are.” ― Phil Cousineau,
Why is traveling and exploring the best thing to do?
Every new place and every experience leaves a small trace on your soul. You look at the world from another angle and breathe the air of foreign continents,
The feeling of happiness and freedom
You get a clear head, leave the work behind, and maybe even turn off the phone. You may love getting lost in a bus in Mumbai or drinking a cold beer on the beach in Thailand.
Look outside the box, be adventurous, and dare something. There are so many ways to travel and discover something new.
You can challenge your limits, become a strong personality, and gain experiences that you might not have made at home.
New inspiration will come. On the return flight, you may already be inspired and make new plans for the next trip because you are suffering from acute travel fever.
Get to know new things, and you can meet people you might never have talked to before. Either you meet at the hotel buffet or in the hostel kitchen. You can exchange ideas, get to know new perspectives and, for example, experience what traditions there are in another country.
Discover the beauty of the world; there are more beautiful places to see. Your heart will jump higher as you discover the beauty of nature.
Get your head free and breathe deeply
Travel is also an escape from everyday life, from problems or a monotonous life. But that does not matter. Finally, you get your head free, be yourself, and breathe freely. There may be other things that you need to take care of when backpacking, whether the mosquito bites were maybe bed bugs or what next City you should fly.
Broaden your Horizon
You broaden your horizons and finally have something to tell. You form your personality and have seen other things than your city and the backyard of your parent’s house. Even you may spoil your stomach at a street food snack, or you may discover a secret beach in Thailand. Focus on your horizon, your empathy, and your perception.
You will become spiritually wealthy. Your head will be full of impressions, and the memory of the camera is full of pictures and video.
Another reason why traveling is good is that we become more frugal and appreciate things more. If you have not seen your family for a while, you are more pleased to be able to embrace them after a long journey.
Also, you have fun because you do what you enjoy. Do you like the mountains, sea, and landscape? Well, let’s go! Are you an adventurer and all India is on your list? It is waiting for you.
Do something good for yourself and your soul. Let yourself be fascinated, come out, wonder, and collect impressions. After all, you do not want to regret anything or at some point say, “If only I had gone then …” right?
The use of traveling is to regulate imagination by reality, and instead of thinking how things may be, to see them as they are. – Samuel Johnson
“Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.” – Miriam Beard
The future is to travel and explore the world
I think in the future, people will travel and connect more, and I think it is good.
Because: “The use of traveling is to regulate imagination by reality, and instead of thinking how things may be, to see them as they are.” – Samuel Johnson
It would be beautiful if young people could do what Rahul did and take a year off to travel, explore and gain experience.
“I am not born for one corner; the whole world is my native land.” – Seneca
“People travel to faraway places to watch, in fascination, the kind of people they ignore at home.” – Dagobert D. Runes

Hi Lesly,
Yes, perception can change a lot and open the mind. It was an amazing experience for Rahul.
I just did an interview with him. What I like most is that he had the most life-changing experiences while traveling in his own country. I will post the interview to inspire maybe younger people. It helped him to have a better relationship with his family as well.

I did not travel much as a young person but I am making up for it in this half of my life.

Hello Erika,
I think travel makes everybody a more awesome person because each time it adds value to your life.
You learn to make friends out of strangers and get more comfortable talking to new people.
Pursuing our passions and creating meaningful lives seems more in the realm of possibility.
You have explored very nicely. Eventually, thanks for adding much value for us.
With best wishes,
Amar Kumar
Hi Amar,
yes, while traveling we can make new experiences which can help us to get a different view of life.
It widens our horizons. Making connections with people from other parts of the world is also expanding our knowledge about other cultures and can give interesting insights. You are right we also discover new possibilities.

This is awesome Erika. So cool that you got to meet up with Rahul too. You know by now how I feel about circling the globe. I’ve been traveling for 12 years now and if anything, I love it as much as ever. Brilliant way to expand your mind, to find inner peace and to see our connectedness because even though we appear to be different in terms of culture, color, language and accents, goodness, we are really, genuine, one presence….one life. Traveling is one of the simplest ways to experience this truth. Great message my friend!

Hi, Ryan, I got to meet Rahul and many others I met online. We even traveled together and planned to continue.
Yes, Ryan , it is true, we can see and feel our connectedness. Usually I do not see color or race when I am with people. It happened that I talked to one of my friends from Rwanda. We talked about a apartment he wanted to buy and I said, nice it has even a solarium. He said, I do not need it, I said why? He said look at me, I am black. I had forgotten about.I used the opportunity to ask him if he can get a sunburn 🙂 and he said, sure, I can get a sunburn 🙂
