The fifth Pillar of the spiritual side of success is the Pilgrimage walk.
Life is often compared to a pilgrimage that we must navigate from birth to death. Like a pilgrimage, life is filled with challenges, obstacles, and unknown paths that test our resilience, courage, and faith.
We have been exploring the five pillars that open us to the spiritual side of success.
We have explored the idea of praying and fasting, especially fasting of hurry and worry, and know that hurry and worry open up from fear, fear of things that may never happen.
Life is a long pilgrimage from fear to love. -Paulo Coelho
We explored the Idea of practicing being in selfless service several times a day,
which connects us more to live and to give active in a more generous way, which opens us to the flow of life.
Practicing this, we find ourselves in the current of our own aliveness.
Man is a substantial immigrant on a pilgrimage of being, and it is
accordingly meaningless to set limits to what he is capable of being.
Jose Ortega y Gasset
We realize that we are limitless.
The fifth pillar of the spiritual side of success is a pilgrimage, the pilgrimage way.
A pilgrimage is an outward journey for an inward purpose.
Most people think of a pilgrimage as visiting a holy place or a journey to a special place
and some want to go at least once in their lifetime for a pilgrimage.
But the idea of pilgrimage is not only this; a pilgrimage walk can happen every day.
Many of us walk to get from one place to another; we walk to our car, walk to the grocery store,
and walk around our yard.
But it depends on how we do these walks. Are we walking in awareness and mindfulness?
In a stressful life today, we often walk around or even drive and sometimes
can not remember how we got where we are.
But why not start to be more mindful? Let’s try and practice being mindful.
Practice living life from the inside out instead of the outside in.
Connect to our source, let go of worry about things which never may happen, being of service
and feel the oneness, giving freely without expectation of being unattached, and walk through life
without hurry, but mindful and in awareness.
Let’s suppose we are walking into a sacred place; we would walk quietly and carefully,
watching every step, walking in awareness and feeling into the place we are. Looking around us
and notice as much as we can about this place.
Walking mindfully
“If you and I would walk mindfully, every day would become a pilgrimage,” Tich Nhat Hanh
Walking mindfully means being aware of our steps, our breath, our feet touching the ground,
inhaling peace, exhaling love.
If we practice this today and walk like that, then every step will be grounding and nourishing.
Even if we do only a few steps, we will find a part of ourselves; we do the pilgrimage walk.
Alan Watts: “We thought of life by analogy with a journey, a pilgrimage, which had a serious purpose at the end, and the thing was to get to that end, success or whatever it is, maybe heaven after you’re dead.
But we missed the point the whole way along. It was a musical thing, and you were supposed to sing or to dance while the music was being played.”
So let’s be aware and mindful and listen to music and sing and dance while the music is played.
Life is a pilgrimage.
Life is a pilgrimage. The wise man does not rest by the roadside inns. He marches direct to the illimitable domain of eternal bliss, his ultimate destination.-Sivananda
Pilgrimage to the place of the wise is to find an escape from the flame of separateness.-Rumi
Life is indeed a pilgrimage, a sacred journey filled with lessons, challenges, and moments of transcendence. By approaching life with a pilgrim’s mindset, we can navigate its ups and downs with grace, courage, and faith.
This was about the fifth pillar of the spiritual side of success.
It may not be easy to follow these teachings all the time, but we can at least start
and practice to become more mindful and see that our possibilities are limitless.
I hope you liked reading about those ancient teachings of the five pillars of success.
Which are proven to work if we work them and today even by advanced technology?

Hi Erika,
This is a lovely post! It’s such a reminder of mindfulness. It is very true how we go about our lives and not even know many times how we’ve gotten to a place. It’s almost like we’re on automatic pilot, we just let our bodies roam and we get so busy being busy. I love the way you describe mindfulness. To be completely aware with every breath and step along our pilgrimage.
Thanks for sharing and take care,
Lillian

Hello Erika:
My favorite part of your post is, “Connect to our source, let go of worry about things which never may happen, being of service and feel the oneness, giving freely without expectation being unattached and walk through life without hurry, but mindful and in awareness.” This is a very powerful sentence!
I feel that if we can focus, on a daily basis, stress and unimportant things will fall by the wayside. 🙂
Thank you for sharing with us a powerful daily habit that can literally change our lives.

Hi Deborah ,
no wonder this sentence is powerful, this are
the five pillars in one sentence . You are right
if we can focus ,it will help . I think we moved
away from our natural state of being .If we go
in the nature we are more able to experience this.
In our world today we are caught in many unimportant
things and are too much attached to material.
This 5 pillars are ancient teachings and successful
people did and still do follow them . If we do look it
can be found in all traditions and religions.
Good ,if we start practising and remember, life may get
more pleasant.
Thank you
Erika
Hey Erika, great quote by Paul Coelho, one of my most respected authors.
Also, we are indeed limitless!

Hi Erika,
Thank you for this great post. I think what caught my attention the most was: “But why not start to be more mindful ? Let’s try and practise to be mindful.
Practise to live life from the inside out instead of the outside in”
Unfortunately, I think a lot of us do this and don’t even realize it. I know I do. It can be both dangerous and also unrewarding to think that a period of your life, you just glazed over without another thought.
Thank you for your words of wisdom.

Hi Erika,
Thank you so much for this post. It is a great reminder to do things mindfully. Sometimes when walking I like to be alone and at one with my creator. When this happens, all the things I have to do, and worries, leave my being. Hence, comes peace…true peace of mind/body/spirit. This post made me realize that I do need to do this more on a regular basis and not just here and there.
Thank you Erika for this inspirational gift.

If we do it more often ,we can really change
and can be happier and peaceful.Walking is very
good to get in a peaceful state and connect to the
creator. It makes grateful and brings us more awareness.
Let’s remember it more often to be mindful.

Erika,
Mindfulness can help us to live so peacefully and always come back to a happy state of mind. I love when I am being mindful, paying attention to my movements, my thoughts and the environment all around me. I love when I am consciously intending to pay attention and listen to other people and to observe the movements of animals and trees and birds that I see.
Thanks for this wonderful reminder to be mindful and at peace, no matter what I think I have to get done in the next few minutes or hours.
Warmly,
Dr. Erica

Hi Dr.Erica,
You are right mindfulness brings us in a happier and more peaceful state of mind.
We can notice the nature and feel calm . I think if we practice this and take
time ,after it we are in flow and in a frequency which makes things we have to
get done less stressful and easier.
Let’s remember and practice to be mindful.
All the best for your launch
Thank you

Hi Erika,
Thank you for a wonderful post laced with poetry. Yes we are most times moving around mindless and unaware of where we are in time and space. I don’t know how much you know about physics, time and spacial relationships but you have touched on some.of these. Really enlightening presentation. Thank you very much.

Hi Vinton ,
I am glad you liked the post.
I know about physics and all can be explained today in physical language as well, but not everybody
may understand it. The natural laws ,physic, works all the time. For example ,we know the law of electricity
and if we want to have light we plug in a lamp and expect it to work.If it does not work ,we know something is wrong ,
maybe the lamp has to be replaced or the wire . We do not not pray please electricity work. The same is ,if something
in our life is wrong ,praying alone does not help ,we have to plug in connect to our spirit and change something and
we can experience it.
This physical ,spiritual laws always have been known and our scientists like Einstein and Heisenberg gained a better
understanding by studying the spiritual laws and ancient teachings.
Beautifully explained in the book ,the Tao of Physics, by Fritjof Chapra.
Heisenberg said: “After the conversations about Indian philosophy,
some of the ideas of Quantum Physics that had seemed so crazy
suddenly made much more sense.”
Einstein: “I have made the Bhagwad Gita as the main source of
my inspiration and guide for the purpose of scientific investigations
and formation of my theories”.
