How can you improve your life and grow?

There are many programs available that can help you to improve your life and know yourself better.

Personal development is trendy today. Numerous books, blogs, and seminars give us tips on how we can improve ourselves. This advice is useful and can help us get on with our lives. It can help you get to know yourself better and make better decisions. It can help you to change your perceptions and beliefs that do not serve you anymore. Be ready to unlearn what you have learned.

However, it is dangerous to misunderstand it and make self-improvement an obsession. Instead of empowering people, it becomes torture. Some keep a strict set of rules that they are doing in detail. It can have the effect that people try to optimize themselves convulsively in every way.

Some follow as many tips as possible, hoping these rules will make them successful people. Weakness, mistakes, or failure have no place in the excellent life of which they dream.

Some put their whole life compulsively toward this goal (at least for a while). They get up early in the morning, follow the rules, meditate, then train before having green smoothies for breakfast. The Vision Board hanging on the wall and the goals for the day set and even for the next five years.

Improve your life by growing and learning to know yourself

All this can be extremely useful depending on the individual. However, is improving life and growing not also about learning to know yourself? It’s not about business and certainly not about competition. It should be about consciousness and supporting growth as a human being.

Self-improvement should be about becoming more mature to cope with your life. The reality is life also includes mistakes, weaknesses, and setbacks. Being more conscious and better prepared for everything that comes up that’s the true meaning of self-improvement.

Here are six things that will help you to transform your life
See the following six tips which have the potential to make you grow and change your life.

1. Be yourself

Do not compare yourself to others; you are a unique human being.

One of the biggest misunderstandings is the belief that everything is about becoming better than others and competing. Why would you want to become the greatest and best, to show up? Someone who only wants to become the greatest to outdo everyone else has not developed himself but just his vanity.

Self-improvement is about growth beyond the ego, questioning yourself, learning to know yourself, reacting more mature, to be responsible. It’s not about getting better than others.

Therefore question your goals. Do you want to achieve it for your well-being, or is it about showing off and making a good impression on others?

Be yourself.
Become the best version of yourself.

2. Take responsibility

One of the first and most important things is to take responsibility for your life. It is a foundation that every human being should do. However, it does not just mean abandoning victimhood and taking responsibility for your life. It also means realizing your responsibility in every situation.

Therefore realize that it is you who decide how you want to feel and how you want to go through life.  You can get upset about anything or not. You can always see the worst in others or the best. Not the others are doing anything to you. It is you that evaluate their behavior and make judgments.

Realize your power; you can change your thoughts and feeling. That does not mean that you can control everything because you can not. But you are not a victim of your parents, circumstances, or the world. You have influence, and you also have responsibility.

The next time someone makes you angry, realize that you become angry, and it’s not the other doing this to you.
You need to understand that you can decide not to be angry.

You have the choice and can control your thoughts and feelings.

3. Be honest with yourself

It may sound strange to you. But how far do you think you will come when you lie to yourself? The prerequisite for any form of change is that you first dare to look and see yourself as you are without any filter.

Maybe for some, it is painful. It means looking closely and questioning yourself and admitting flaws, weaknesses, and mistakes. You do not have to hide anything from yourself or pretend anything. You can be as you are, be yourself.

Good to make it a habit and reflect on it. It also means questioning your opinion; is it your thoughts or conformity, and you say what others want to hear? Even if you do not tell anyone about yourself, that you are unhappy or anxious, for example, you should confess all to yourself. It is a beginning.

4. Accept what you can not change

We do not have anything under control on the outside. Life is sometimes hard and unfair. Illness happens; you have rainy vacations instead of the sunny you did hope. Also, we can not influence what happens in the world and not change the people around us. However, you can choose how you react to the situation you are facing.

You can fight against your situation, struggle and complain that everything is unfair. Or you accept and try to make the best of it. Accept and stop moaning.

Do not try to fix whatever comes in your life. Fix yourself in such a way that whatever comes, you will be fine.-Sadhguru

5. Be realistic

That does not mean that you should be content with less. It says that you should stay realistic. You can and should go to achieve the important things to you.

For this, you will need a plan. And hold on to it. It takes a clear decision about how you want to live. And then you have to stay tuned and take action.
Do not try to be perfect or always behave correctly. Also, do not put too high expectations on yourself. Be realistic and improve your life step by step.

6. Don’t Judge

It’s always easy to judge other people. We make assumptions about people. But what do we know about them and their life?

A troublemaker in the traffic is perhaps an idiot who does not care for anyone. Maybe he’s just driving for the first time in his life, maybe his emotions are not under control, or there was an accident, and he’s on his way to the hospital. We do not know.

Therefore, do not judge others and remember that you do not know about their life. Your fellow human beings will feel better, and the world will become a better place. Also, it is said, don’t judge so that they will not judge you. Is it not better not to judge?

If we are unbiased, we are open-minded. We allow our minds to expand through ideas, perceptions, and experiences. In this way, we gain a much higher perspective and learn more about ourselves and the world in which we live.
