Do you listen to your gut feeling, your inner voice, your intuition?
The gut feeling or inner voice is usually an excellent guide, but often we ignore it.
Sometimes you just know things. We often talk about inner voice, gut feeling, or Intuition. Often, it is contrary to the intellect; sometimes, contrary to the logic, it just feels safe and right.
The head says yes, but the gut says no? It often turns out that our gut feeling was right. But most of the time, we do not dare to rely on it and rationally approach decisions. Intuition can be a useful guide. So you should learn to listen more to your gut feeling your inner voice.
Some people rely on their gut feeling and are almost always right. No matter if it is a big decision or even just the planning of a vacation. Those who trust their Intuition will go the right way.
And then there are the people who rethink every decision several times and weigh the pros and cons carefully. They act rationally, even if the gut feeling is sometimes very loud and warning.
Did it happen that you have just thought of someone, and he is already calling or sending a message? That too is Intuition.
The soul knows. We can learn to recognize the inner voice, our Intuition. How can you look at things through the eyes of your soul?
The different perspectives
In everyday life, the realization that we can take the view of our soul seriously is the first step. It’s not always about decisions and questions; our behavior is determined by our point of view as well. Everything that happens in life has something to do with our inner self.
For example, there are situations in life where you feel misinterpreted. Through the eyes of the personality, you may say: That can not be true! You look for the guilt and scold the colleagues. You cannot sleep soundly, and your mind is resentful.
Through the eyes of the soul, you ask yourself other questions: Why does this happen to me? Maybe it’s right for me; should I face this challenge for a reason? Instead of looking at others and scolding, You stay with yourself and look curiously and with different eyes at the situation.
If you consciously pay attention to your Intuition, you will realize that your gut feeling seldom fails you. Often, your mind confirms this first inspiration. But if the head and gut are in opposite directions, your gut feeling is usually right. If you have followed more of your mind and do not know this sense of Intuition, now is the time to trust your gut more. You can find out how to do that here.
How do you train Intuition?
In the course of modern life, we have increasingly lost Intuition. Often, the modern lifestyle forces us to act rationally rather than intuitively. And suddenly, you realize again and again that you do not feel comfortable with your decisions because something in you resists them. To regain balance in your life, you should connect with your inner voice and perceive your feelings. Most of the time, they show you the way that you want to go. That’s not so easy with all the stress in everyday life. Therefore, it takes a little training to be able to listen to yourself better.
Here are some tips on how to learn to trust your gut feeling your Intuition:
1. Relax
First, you should know that stress can block your Intuition. If you have a lot to do, your head makes all the decisions. Your inner voice, however, is completely lost in all the hype. Therefore, the first step for you is to come to rest. It can be through meditation, yoga, or even through breathing exercises in which you focus entirely on yourself. Even a walk or a relaxing bath will calm your mind and bring you a step closer to your Intuition. It is best to plan a daily time of doing nothing. Do this regularly. Ten minutes are enough for the beginning, which you can gradually increase. Probably you even do not want to miss it after you get used to it.
2. Practice your perception
In these phases of rest, you can gradually train your self-perception. How do you feel? How does your body feel? Do you hear your inner voice, which wants to tell you something quietly? Then listen. And if she says something negative to you, notice what your mind would like to suppress. Even negative feelings like envy, shame, greed, or despair bring you further in your decisions and are completely natural. These brief impulses ensure that you make carefully considered decisions differently and protect you from a mistake. The right one always feels good.
3. Apply your Intuition in everyday life
If you gradually develop a feeling for your gut feeling, then apply it in everyday life. An excellent exercise for getting started: for a whole day, follow your inner voice. If she tells you to go for a walk, then go, but let your Intuition determine whether you go to the next corner, right or left. Take a break in a café, for example, and maybe you meet friendly people on the way. Perhaps you have more inspirations that you have not been aware of. Besides, you can try to predict things intuitively. When the phone rings, guess who’s on it. Or toss a coin and guess if the head or figure is up.
4. Observe human nature
Another way to train your Intuition is to observe strangers. When going for a walk or on the way to work, there are plenty of practice objects. Look closely at the people and intuitively estimate them. Do you seem sympathetic? Or unsympathetic? Where may they go right now? From where are they coming? Or what could be their story? It’s an excellent way to bring your hidden instincts back to the surface.
5. Decide intuitively
Once you have reconnected to the inner voice, you can practice making intuitive decisions. It does not have to be life-changing things at the beginning; even small things are enough to build up the trust in your gut feeling. For example: What am I eating today? What do I buy at the grocery store? What do I wear? Or What do I do after work? These are choices that your mind might make other than your Intuition. But maybe it even agrees, and you feel good, then you have made the right choice.
Be open to receiving answers.
It always helps to create moments of calm. Get into a state where we are almost bored. Nevertheless, continue. And ask questions in this calm. For example: Is this the life I want to live? Where am I happy? Do I want to change something?
The great thing about intuition is that it’s a strong feeling, a real AHA experience. The body also helps; it reacts strongly with a good feeling. You can ask questions, listening in silence: “Do I want that?” Try something: “How does that feel?” The answers to these questions come to us when we listen. It is possible to shape a life so that we feel comfortable. For all of us.

Of course, we can get lost on this life path again and again.
How exactly can something like this happen?
If you do not live your full potential, if you do not believe in the talents you bring to the world and underestimate your abilities. Then you feel unhappy.
The happier we are, the more we live our soul plan.

Hi Erika, I think a person has to have confidence in their intuition. When I was younger I didn’t listen to mine, I didn’t think I was right and learned years later that I was 🙁
Now, I trust myself more and believe in my own intuition. It can have great power over us and take us in the right direction with our lives. We just have to learn to listen to it and trust ourselves 🙂

Hi Lisa,
yes, it is good to trust intuition it is a great guide. I do not think that it has power over us, the power is always ours. The universe does guide, but we have a free will. we can use it to our advantage or not. You are right if we learn to listen to it and trust we will find what is the right way for us and it feels always good 🙂

Hi Erika,
I for one definitely need to work on trusting my intuition. Sometimes that inner voice is just so muffled by the noise of everything else, I can forget to listen to it at all. I have had some gut feelings if you will, that have truly shaped how I carry myself and the way I interact with certain people. Those feelings have resulted in being notably rightful and trustworthy, so maybe I should give that inner voice more space to speak in the future. Thank you for making me think Erika.

Hi Keiran,
I think you definitely should give the inner voice more attention.
It makes life more pleasant because it is a guide in the right direction.
See what Mahatma Gandhi said: “There come to us moments in life when about some things we need no proof from without. Hi Aadash,
I am glad you liked the post and may it help to recognize and listen to the inner voice and trust the gut feeling.
It can help a lot in life to decide what is right for us. Sometimes we make loops if we do not listen, only to get to the same place again. But maybe we had to learn something.

does it heal? Good to know that it helped you.
From Mahatma Gandhi Quotes: “Everyone who wills can hear the inner voice. It is within everyone”.

Erika,
Thank you for directing me to that quote passage, from Gandhi. I think that was something I really needed to hear right now. It resonated with me. Thank you again!

You are 100% correct. Many of us can’t figure out what exactly we want to do, and that’s where the major problem is. If you can’t listen to your heart then one can’t take necessary action or even enjoy the work he/she is doing. Thanks a lot for sharing such a useful article.

Hi Santanu,
It is beautiful if we can listen to our heart and take action. It is a good feeling and work does not feel difficult.
Unfortunately, many lost this ability or do not trust the inner voice, Gandhi ji was talking about, does not matter if we call it Dictates of reason 🙂 Everybody should learn to listen and take action.

Hi Erika
Very encouraging words from Jiddu.
Learning to train your intuition is critical to your happiness, health, success and prosperity.
When people try to act strictly in accordance with their rationalizations, they are only seeing half the story.
The right-brain side.
Letting go, trusting your intuition, shows you the other half.
The left-brain side.
Thanks for hosting this wonderful article.

Hi Donna,
yes, it is right, most people are too much in the brain or mind.
Good to learn to listen more to the inner voice or the gut feeling. For me, it comes more from the heart. I used the term gut feeling because most people call it this. The whisper of the soul is for sure not in the brain.:)
Again, it is more about the feelings, vibes as it is called today 🙂

Right, many do not know what they want and listen to anybody to find solutions which makes it worse.
It is good to learn to listen to the heart, trust it and follow it.

Hello Erika,
Intuition is a powerful aspect of the human experience, and something that anyone can access within them, if they’re open to it.
Meditating is a great practice for cultivating silence and intuition. Becoming aware of your intuition and acting on it are two different things.
During the process of learning to trust your gut, it’s an important step to merely observe when your intuition comes up in any given situation.
While intuition is a highly personalized practice, you don’t need to cultivate it in isolation. Eventually, you will want to take action on your intuition.
With best wishes,
Amar Kumar
